Our Savior is a congregation set apart for God's Work
Planted as a mission of the Lutheran Church's Department for Black Ministry in 1926, the original Our Savior church was located at Northland and Purdy streets. The building still exists as a Bible Chapel used by another congregation.
As time moved foward and many moved to the suburbs, a former Lutheran Church building became vacant at 26 Brunswick Blvd. Our Savior purchased the building in the early 1960s and began worshipping at its current home.
Today a diverse group of people gather to worship at Our Savior. While we still use the traditional Lutheran worship service, Praise Dancing and elements of Gospel music add richness and character to our worship. Come join us on Sunday mornings as we explore God's word togethrer.
